Tuning Rates:

Luis offers piano tunings throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.

  • 2 hours + ($199) – for pianos that are regularly tuned every 6-12 months. This package includes minor repairs like sticky keys, bobbling hammers, etc. 
  • 2.5 hours + ($249) – for pianos that haven’t been tuned in over 1 year. Includes pitch-raise and fine tunings, as well as small repairs, light regulation and voicing.
  • 3 hours + ($299) – for pianos that are neglected or it has been a significant length of time since the last tuning. Includes two pitch-raise tunings, fine tuning, deep cleaning, light regulation/voicing and small repairs.

    Luis is so skilled and masterful at piano tuning. Not only did he raise the pitch of the whole instrument, but our piano sounds gorgeous now!     I called Luis to tune an antique baby grand piano that had been severely out of tune for some time and was quite old. He warned us there might be additional costs.     We are very happy with our experience with Luis. Our piano had not been tuned in many years, but Luis took the time to assess it and offer excellent advice, which I really appreciated. He also fixed a few sticky keys which improved the playability of our piano. He was punctual, personable and good humored, even offering a few jokes along the way. He clearly loves what he does. And even though our piano is not a top of line, he treated it as though it was and made us feel good about it. He clearly loves what he does and does it well.

    Mr. Hernandez came to my home to tune my piano. After a short while he asked to speak with me. He wanted to advise me that due to the age and condition of said instrument he wouldn’t advise tuning it. He took the time to explain his recommendation which was very helpful. I was very impressed with both his knowledge and honesty in this situation. He also said he would keep me in mind should he ever come across a piano that would suit my needs.

    Luis Hernandez is a consummate professional. He did a great job working on a very old piano (1925 Packard) that had not been tuned in six years. It also has a cracked sounding board. He listened to my concerns, addressed them and worked miracles. My pianos may not be a $150,000 Steinway but to me it is even more valuable. I'm very happy to have a master tuner to keep it in perfect condition. And added plus - he showed up on time and he was very nice to my dog.

    I had the pleasure of working with Luis when he came to tune a piano at Waters Senior Living. From start to finish, Luis was an absolute professional. He not only did a fantastic job tuning the piano, but he also took the time to teach one of the residents how to tune unisons and do it herself in the future.
